What is Alpha Squad Fitness?

Alpha Squad Fitness is a strength based functional fitness group training gym that uses proven techniques to deliver results to members!!

In our years of experience we have learned a thing or two about what it takes to help people just like you transform their lives. We constantly hear the words “lose weight”, “tone up”, “get fit”, “need to change” but what does it really take to get you where you want to be?

We understand it and we have done it countless times, what we know is, it’s not chance, it’s not art, it’s a simple yet practical formula with a well executed plan.

Whats an Alpha Squad Fitness Class like?

It’s the complete package. 

Classes are fun, exciting and hard work that’s totally worth it. Run by experienced coaches full of kowledge and quick wit.

We have broken down our classes into 3 types, Calorie BURNing, Making muscle STRONG and CONDITIONING the body via the RUMBLE of boxing and MMA inspiration.

I've never really done anything before, can I do this?

Yes. Usually if you have never done anything before or are not feeling confident about it we recommend speaking to our coaches and they will advise whether a 1:1 assessment/introduction session is best.

Is there a beginner class?

No. But we advise you to chat with one of our staff and they can advise you whether a 1:1 assessment/introduction session is best.

What is the minimum age to join a class?

Minimum age is 16. If you are under 16 we advise you speak to a staff member for options, we may allow under 16’s on a case by case basis.

The Facility

Where are you located?

Our group fitness gym ALPHA SQUAD FITNESS OAKLIEGH is located at 5 MONARCH COURT, OAKLEIGH, VIC, 3166.

We service areas within 5km of our locations, these include suburbs such as Oakleigh, Oakleigh South, Ashwood, Bentleigh, Bentleigh East, Carnegie, Caulfield, Chadstone, Cheltenham, Clayton, Clayton South, Clarinda, Malvern, Malvern East, Mount Waverley, Murrumbeena, Notting Hill.

Do you have storage for my gear?

Yes. We have storage units visible from the workout floor.

Do you have water or should I bring my own?

We sell water at reception. You are welcome to bring your own water and we have a filling station in our kitchen.

Do you sell protein shakes for after class?

No. We do sell a range of dietitan approved protein snacks and shake poweders provided by Healthy Empire Goods. Please speak to staff.

Do you have showers?

We currently have a single private shower available to members after class.

Booking Class

How do I book my spot?

The best way is to book online.

Visit this link: BOOK A CLASS

Find a class on a day and time that interests you and the tiny link that says “BOOK A CLASS”. This will take your to our booking system Punch Pass where you reserve your spot for class.

Should I create an online account?

Yes. It’s simple and should take less than a minute. Having an account will make it easier to book multiple classes.

Do I have to buy a membership?

No. You can buy a single class pass if you not ready for committment or you can even buy a 10 pass.

Do you offer upfront memberships?

We currently only offer weekly memberships billed fortnightly. You can buy a 10 pass upfront. Occasionally we offer specials that maybe include a fixed upfront offer.

How far in advance can I book a class?

Currently it is Seven (7) days. Best to be ready to book online as soon as classes become available. Classes may book out but a wait list is available and as spot free up you will be messaged in a first in first served basis.

Class Participation

When should I arrive?

We recomment arriving 10 minutes before class in case you need to speak to staff.

What do I do when I arrive?

Come in and say “Yo” to the front desk, if it’s your first time, let them know and they will take care of you.

What if I'm running late?

Best to send a message to the team and let them know. We can generally allow up to 10 minutes for a late start depending on the class, but best to let staff know and they can advise you.

What if I realise I'm just not going to make class and I need to cancel?

Best to cancel your booking online to release your spot to anyone that may be on a waitlist.

What should I wear for class?

Whatever makes you comfortable to train and move in, be mindful that your heart rate may rise and get you warm. Probably a good idea to wear runners/trainers – cross trainers are best and preferably with laces.

Alpha Squad Nomenclature (that’s fancy for names of things)

Whats some of the terms used at ALPHA SQUAD?

HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training
METCON – Metabolic Conditioning
AMRAP – As Many Rounds As Possible
EMOM – Every Minute On The Minute
CHIPPER – Chip away at the exercise list
ACCUMULATION – Building up each exercise until the desired number
RUMBLE – Boxing/Martial Arts based exercise class
TABATA – Exercise class based on a specific work:rest ratio, e.g. 30 seconds work : 10 seconds rest”


What is your response to COVID-19?

We have put in place numerous protocols to ensure hygiene and safety of both our members and our staff.

  • Increased sanitisation stations
  • cleaning of equipment and surfaces before and after every class
  • cleaning of equipment between use
  • restrictions to some amenities
  • members to sanitise their hands before and after class.
